Turn on two-step verification
On this page
Two-step verification asks for something only you have, every time you sign in. You can use an authenticator app, a passkey, or both.
With an authenticator app
- Open Security in your account settings.
- Choose to turn on two-step verification and scan the code with your app, for example Google Authenticator, Authy or 1Password.
- Enter the 6-digit code from the app to finish.
With a passkey
A passkey uses your device's screen lock, such as a fingerprint, face or PIN.
- Open Passkeys and register a passkey on this device.
- Go to Security and add the passkey as a two-step method.
Add a second method. If you lose the only device you use for two-step verification, you can't sign in on your own. Adding both an app and a passkey keeps you covered.
