# Add people and assign seats

A member needs a seat to search in the company. Members without a seat can see the company but can't run lookups in it.

## Give someone a seat

Open Plan & seats in your company and assign a free seat to the member. A new seat starts with its plan's monthly lookups. Taking a seat away frees it for someone else.

## Change the number of seats

- More seats, or a better seat type, are charged now for the rest of the current period.
- Fewer seats apply from the next renewal. Nothing is refunded.

## Who can join

Admins choose how people join: by invite only, with a link, or automatically for verified email domains. To verify a domain, add a DNS record that proves you own it. Personal mail domains can't be added.
